Busy Weekend for MET 26

On Sunday, July 15, 2024, Marine Emergency Team 26 with Marine Unit 269 responded to the area between Pooles Island and Hart Miller Island for a reported overturned vessel. Units arrived and observed a small recreational vessel overturned with debris floating around it. We deployed rescue swimmers to see if there were any occupants inside the vessel, once the vessel was cleared, a search via air, land and sonar scans were conducted. It was later determined the two occupants were safe on land after being picked up by another vessel. Military officials from Aberdeen Proving Grounds were assisting units to ensure we were not in any harm.

While on our way back to port we responded to two other incidents both just required minor assistance.
